I get it. Defence life is kinda like a roller coaster, only the dude running the controls has gone rogue. He's randomly speeding it up, slowing it down, and just to terrify you a bit more, he's even making it go backwards. It's meant to be fun, but it's actually terrifying.
This is how it felt for me for my first 17 years as a Defence spouse. The turning point — where I leapt off the ride as it passed through the station, booting the dude out and reclaiming control of the ride — was when I started working on my emotional fitness.
I learned how to turn fear into excitement. I became grittier. I rediscovered what's inside me, and increased my capacity for scary new challenges (including meeting new people — I even started to love it!).

All too often, they're caught up in the grind of to do lists and being reactive to whatever challenges the day presents.
